Kolonaki is a wealthy, chic and upmarket district, and a fashionable meeting area. As one of the capital's leading shopping areas, it includes a number of high-end boutiques from young adult to casual fashion to prestigious haute couture from Greek and international designers. One of its main shopping streets, Voukourestiou Street, is now known for its jewellery. Museums and galleries also abound in Kolonaki. The Benaki Museum, inside a preserved neoclassical manor house, and the Goulandris Museum of Cycladic Art and are two of the finest private collections in the country. Two smaller museums to be found in Kolonaki are the Museum of the History of Greek Costume and the Theater Museum, both highly specialized in their respective areas. A walk across the street from Vasilissis Sofias Avenue are the Byzantine Museum, and the War Museum of Athens.
There are a plethora of available options for nightlife, including bars, ouzeries, and tavernas. Outdoor seating on pedestrian walks is typical, creating a lively atmosphere at night. The main Kolonaki Square (with the small column) is surrounded by cafes and restaurants.
The Lycabettus Funicular, a funicular railway, links Kolonaki to the summit of Lycabettus hill. Kolonaki also hosts 2 metro stations, Evengelismos and Megaro Mousikis.

Reviews of this property
The apartment is in a convenient central location and George was helpful in arranging transfers which was much appreciated. First impressions wasn't so good though, apartment is not much bigger than a hotel room and not as "High-End" as I imagined, bed hadn't been made (we had to make it), linen for bed wrong size with pillow sheets missing, cleaning clothes left on floor, some power points weren't working or absent where expected (e.g. kitchen) and the inside door handle would come off in your hand if not careful. However, Athens hotels are expensive so the apartment represented reasonable value, and we may have been the exception re our issues.

we had a plaesant stay at George´s Apartment in Piraeus. The Apartment is perfectyl located in the centre of Piraeus
The apartment we stayed was clean and very spacious. We also asked for an airport transfer and it was made in quite reasonable price with no problems. Contact we Mr George is ok but I would really appreciate bigger support before we made a decision and chose his apartment.
If I can make any clues for your stay in Athens - book an apartment nearby the sea and don't worry about transport time or cost to city center ;)
the apartment is very good and clean, near the center. But we had a chick in delay of 2 hours (14:00 instead 12:00). In general, we are satisfied.
We have had a wonderful Holiday in House Roustika. A fantastic beutifull House! Everything was perfect and we were meat with great kindfullnes and hospitality from our contact person: Eleni and the People, that lived in the Village! We can warm recommend House Roustika for everyone.
Amazing clean and cozy apartment with everything you need. great and save area, we really enjoyed the stay and can warmly recommend George as a host ;-))

George was an excellent house manager, replied quickly and in detail for each request. The house is very nice, quite and clean, very bright with a fantastic view on Athens's harbour and more. Everything worked well. Pireaus area is not so comfortable to get beaches and Acropoli (it took about 45/55 minutes) but you can easily get buses and the metro stop is about 10' far away.
To make it simple: the house was a WRECK (broken chairs, 3 chairs for a house for 10, 1 bathroom instead of 2, dirty floors, dirty stuff in the cupboards, dirty plastic bottles near the pool, ... ). We called George to complain and to tell him that we would not stay in the house (we were with children), and managed to talk to him.
BUT, that was the only contact that we had: he did not return our following calls to discuss refund. We left him several messages but he did bot care.
In the end we did not stay in the house.
George is a great host, his apartment is very pleasant and robust. If you are looking to stay in that area, then it is the best place to stay. George was very attentive to my needs and made everything possible to accommodate my desires.
