We visited the home of Stephen six of us for two weeks a great stay in New York.
The apartment is located in a quiet residential area in the borough of Brooklyn in a beautiful old Town House, which is currently being refurbished by Stephen gradually. Noise due to the renovations we did not perceived during the stay, but a bit of debris was before the House. The center of New York you are traveling with the subway about 15 minutes. Grocery stores are within walking distance in about 5-10 minutes, the trendy district Williamsburg also in about 15 minutes.
The apartment is located on the top floor, which is, however, only be reached via quite narrow stairs. For six people, although it is sufficient, but in fact a little cramped because two people have to sleep in the living room. In addition, there is only a bathroom. However, the equipment is mostly new and solid. Through lots of windows, it is also nice and bright and cozy in the whole house. In the large open kitchen can also cook class and eat.
Stephen and his family were great and very accommodating. In case of problems they were always accessible all day and are always already excursions and insider tips to tell from the neighborhood. Overall, one learns in Brooklyn actually know a completely different side of New York and love. Both for people who are for the first time in NY and also for people who have been frequent in the Big Apple so a great experience!
we, 2 couples had a fantastic stay in this apartment - luxury the garden, great neighboors - after a long exhausting trip downtown ;-) we will recommend that flat to you - and will come back fore sure - Stephen and his wife are smart, helpful and 24h available - by text or email - if necessary - All in all - we did enjoy!
Accommodation is spacious and comfortable., But looks shabby.
Distance to subway about 10 minutes walk.
Landlords are friendly people.
The district is reasonable.
Not really a must.
Don't go before check in time otherwise you have to wait until 3'a clock in front of the door. House is first floor.Bathroom is very small and need to refurnish.Bedrooms are ok.Kingston Throop Avs Metro stop is 12-15 minutes walk a way from house. From this station you can go directly Manhattan with C line in 30 minutes. Also house area is safety , you can use metro even nights. From house to JFK airport is 45 $. by taxi . With this money good place to stay .
Apartment of excellent quality for money. The owners are very nice ethical. The apartment is located about 15 minutes from the metro Line A service to Manhattan in 30/40 minutes.
Due to electrical problems caused by a heat wave we stayed in the studio and not in the appartment. The studio contains what you need, but is a bit outdated. Looking at the price that is acceptable. Location is in a nice street with friendly people. We found it great to stay amongst the local people instead of in an anonymous hotel. Supermarket and metro nearby.
A couple of days before arrival, the owner asked us if we'd be okay to stay at another place. Didn't say why, but as the 2nd appartment was closer to Prospect Park and shops plus restaurants, we were okay. The appartment had enough space for the three of us (couple with small child) and was very close to the subway. It was clean and the other people living in the same building were friendly. The only disadvantage for us was that it didn't have a dishwasher.
I'd recommend this to others- don't expect a palace but a convenient place to stay.
Good value for money. Nice hostess. Friendly, helpful neighbors. Kitchen not so user friendly.
Goede prijs-kwaliteit verhouding. Aardige gastvrouw.
Vriendelijke, behulpzame buurtbewoners. Keuken niet zo gebruiksvriendelijk.
I enjoyed this apartment very much during my stay in NY. It is a good location - close to the subway, shops and bars; the neighborhood is nice and feels safe. The study has all the conveniences one might need, while giving a taste of old Brooklyn from the 30s. It is not big, but seems more spacious than on the photographs. Some parts are slightly used, but the apartment is renovated and beautifuly arranged (there is no exaggeration in the way it is described - it is really cozy and finely designed). The hosts are very friendly, and so are the people arround. For me and my family it was more than a place to stay - a true enrichment to our experience of New York.
